Conservatories are a great way to improve the value of your home and to make the best use of your property. Conservatories are available with attractive double glazed frames, and building or adding a conservatory to your home is a relatively simple way to increase the habitable space in your property.

Conservatories are available in other various designs, styles and colour options. Some of the general designs are Victorian conservatory, Edwardian conservatory, Mediterranean conservatory and Gable conservatories. There is a wide range of styles to choose from to enhance the look of your home.

Mediterranean conservatories are also known as sun lounge. They are best option where space is limited or you live in a bungalow. They are best suited where a smallest angle of roof pitch is essential.

Victorian conservatories are the most traditional and known because of their bay front and inclined roof. They are beautiful and attractive and are suited for all types of house styles. Bay front can be of 3 or 5 facets in size.

Edwardian conservatories can be identify easily because of its rectangular foot and pitched top. The four-sided figure form utilises the interior space efficiently. It allows the furniture to fit in corners easily.

Gable conservatories add a sense of grandeur to any home. With it’s square or rectangular shape it also offers excellent use of the floor space. The front panel of the conservatory remains upright creating a feeling of great height within the conservatory and an altogether lighter and airy effect.

Whether you have lived in your home for two years or twenty two years there are very few people who would not like more space. However moving house to a bigger property is not always practical. Not only is moving house very expensive but it may also mean leaving the area where you feel settled, have made friends and put down roots. If you have plenty of outdoor space then a great option is to extend your current home. Although adding a traditional brick built extension can be very expensive adding a conservatory or orangery to your home is not only affordable but will give you that much needed extra living space you need.

Modern uPVC conservatories have become very popular over the past twenty years. They not only add much needed extra living space but they also have a light and airy feel like no other room in your home. They help to bridge the gap between your home and you garden allowing to make the most of your garden whatever the weather. Due to double glazing used in the construction of uPVC conservatories they are now far more energy efficient and cheaper to heat making them a space which can be used 365 days a year. They can also be used for virtually any purpose so if you need extra room for a study, play room, dining area or living room a uPVC could be the answer. uPVC conservatories are also probably the cheapest way of extending your home and not only will they add space but also value to your property if you decide to sell in the future.

However if you want the latest trend to hit the home improvement market then you need to consider orangeries. The forefather of the conservatory the orangery is making a comeback. Originally only afforded by the very wealthy developments have been made in the construction industry and orangeries are now an affordable way of adding extra living space to your home. Orangeries have a more substantial feel than a conservatory due to the brick or stone pillars used in the construction. Orangeries are available in both traditional and modern contemporary styles depending on your own personal taste.

If you decide to extend your home then of course you can add a traditional brick built extension. However by adding a uPVC conservatory or orangery you will be adding a room like no other in your house which will allow you to enjoy your garden 365 days a year. Whilst giving you that much needed extra living space.

Conservatory Outlet specialise in the manufacture and installation of the latest energy saving Conservatories and custom built Orangeries throughout Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire, Shropshire, West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, Northern Ireland and Wales.

In the current economic climate more and more people are choosing to stay in their current home rather than move to a new house. As families grow and space becomes limited more and more people are opting to extend their current homes. Adding a UPVC Conservatory has proved to be very popular as not only does it give you more living space but it also adds value to the property, enables you to enjoy your garden from the comfort of indoors and UPVC Conservatories are more affordable than traditional brick built extensions.

The great thing about UPVC Conservatories is that they can be tailor made to suit your individual needs. Modern UPVC Conservatories are used for a variety of different purposes from dining rooms to play rooms therefore each individual client is likely to have different requirements.

UPVC Conservatories come in a range of styles including the very popular Edwardian and Victorian ranges. Traditionally UPVC Conservatories were built using timber or iron frames. However, modern conservatories are built using uPVC. By using uPVC windows and uPVC doors in a UPVC Conservatory they are far more energy efficient as they incorporate double glazing. uPVC not only makes them cheaper to run but also much cheaper to install in the first place. The other great thing about uPVC windows and doors is that they are also very low maintenance. Traditional UPVC Conservatory frames needed to be treated every couple of years to prevent them from warping and rotting whereas uPVC frames only require washing with soap and water to keep them looking as good as new.

The price of the UPVC Conservatory will depend on the size and style of UPVC Conservatory that you opt for. The smaller and more basic the design of UPVC Conservatory the cheaper it will be. There are many extras that you can add to UPVC Conservatories such as self cleaning glass and under floor heating but obviously this will push the price up.

Extending your property by adding a UPVC Conservatory has become very popular as they are affordable and add value in a struggling housing market. If you are looking to add space and make the most of your garden then you should definitely be considering a UPVC Conservatory.

A UPVC Conservatory should always enhance your home as much as possible, whether it be from the outside or inside. That’s why location and size of the UPVC Conservatory are very important. A UPVC Conservatory should fit in with your room plan. For example, if the kitchen is at the back of the house, a UPVC Conservatory that doubles up as a dining room or a breakfast room should ideally be positioned off your kitchen. If your living room faces the garden, a sunroom could easily be added to enhance the use of the garden and get more light into your living area.

Of course, a UPVC Conservatory is a bright, airy environment, but did you realise that the adjoining room in your home will also benefit from extra light? This effect can be maximised by choosing a UPVC Conservatory featuring a glass roof such as those shown on this page. This will allow the maximum amount of light into your home, adding to the sense of space.

We all know that a UPVC Conservatory can be a great addition to your home and a relaxing, peaceful environment.

An alternative room to entertain family and friends, a separate room to relax on your own away from the hustle and bustle of family life, or simply an extension to your existing living room, adding a UPVC Conservatory to your home offers you the extra space you have always dreamed of. It is inevitable that as families grow and children get older, more space in the home is needed. However, moving to a bigger home can be expensive and stressful and many people are choosing to add a custom built UPVC Conservatory to their home for a cost effective and problem-free alternative to adding an extra room to your home.

Taking shape and size into consideration, bungalows and cottages usually have a very low roof. A solution here is to select a lean to UPVC Conservatory style – The Lean-To (or Sunroom) UPVC Conservatory is probably the simplest in design and originally the most popular UPVC Conservatory option. With its clean lines and timeless appearance the Lean-To UPVC Conservatory style is still a very popular choice today.

The Lean-To UPVC Conservatory classically has a low pitched roof which makes it ideally suited to bungalows or houses restricted by height.

Large detached or semi detached houses have the most scope for a UPVC Conservatory design. Conservatories can either be completely connected to the house or made to look separate from the house by using a little corridor or lobby to connect UPVC Conservatory and house, whichever design is more appropriate.

A UPVC Conservatory will provide a versatile space that can be used in so many ways and can also be the least expensive and easiest way of adding space to your home. Incredibly versatile, a UPVC Conservatory can be anything you want it to be – create a relaxing living area where you can shut off from the hustle and bustle of family life; a dining room to entertain friends and family; a play area for the children; a private home office or even a luxury kitchen.

And don’t forget the outdoors – a UPVC Conservatory can also allow you to get the most out your garden. Even on a cold day you can still enjoy being closer to nature, extending your summer throughout the year. With a UPVC Conservatory, the possibilities are endless.

David Gibson Conservatories based in Northern Ireland have specialised in design the perfect Conservatories or Sunrooms for over 30 years. To view a range of UPVC Conservatory Designs and Sunroom Options visit www.gibsonconservatories.com or freephone 0800 838 454.

A conservatory is a fantastic addition to any home. They add extra living space and create an atmosphere like no other room in your home. Anyone who has a conservatory will realise the benefits that conservatories provide and would not consider living without one in the future. The problem that some people find is that if they have had their conservatory for a number of years they may find it is starting to look a little tired and dated.

Timber conservatories are one of the worst culprits. If you have a timber conservatory and it is over ten years old it may be starting to show signs of rotting and require a lot of maintenance to keep it in good condition. Many older conservatories also only have single glazed glass this will mean that it is very cold in the winter and cost a lot to heat.

If you have an older conservatory then it may be worth considering an upgrade. The majority of modern conservatories are built from using uPVC and double glazing. This is because uPVC is long lasting and requires far less maintenance than timber framed conservatories. Double glazing is highly energy efficient making it far cheaper to keep your conservatory warm. If you decide to upgrade your conservatory there are three routes you can take.

Depending on the structure of the side frames you may be possible to install a new glazed roof. This will substantially improve the energy efficiency of the conservatory. Depending on the roof you choose you can also restrict the amount of sunlight which flows through the roof helping to keep it cooler in the summer.
The second option is to replace the existing conservatory. This would involve demolishing the existing frame and replacing it with new uPVC windows, uPVC doors and a roof on the existing base and dwarf wall. This should be a relatively easy procedure and should not be too expensive.

The final option is for a complete rebuild. You would need to knock down the existing conservatory any walls and the base and start a fresh. The beauty of a complete redesign is that you can change the shape, style and size of the conservatory to suit your needs. You can add upvc doors which will give you easy access to your garden. You can also customise the conservatory by choosing the colour and features such as lead windows.

The great thing about updating a conservatory is that it will help to modernise you home and improve its energy efficiency. Both these factors will help to add value to the property and make it more desirable if you decide to sell in the future.

Over the past couple of decades there has been a boom in the popularity of conservatories and orangeries. The conservatory and orangery manufacturers soon cottoned on to the increase in popularity and there is now a wider choice of designs and styles of conservatory and orangery available than ever.

However, in order for you conservatory or orangery to be a space which you can use 365 days a year and as cost effective as possible it is important to ensure it is well insulated. Traditionally conservatories and orangeries were very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. To prevent this it is important that you select appropriate windows. Installing double glazing is a must as double glazing is very energy efficient helping to keep the heat in therefore lowering your energy bills. Double glazing will also help to improve the security of your conservatory or orangery as it is much stronger and harder to break than traditional single glazed windows.

Due to the nature of the way orangeries are built they are usually more energy efficient than conservatories as they tend to have less glazed areas. However, modern uPVC conservatories are a cost effective alternative to orangeries. Due to the uPVC frame and double glazing uPVC conservatories are very energy efficient. uPVC conservatories are also relatively cheap and easy to construct and usually far cheaper than an orangery. However orangeries have a more substantial feel to them than a conservatory therefore it depends on personal preference to whether you would be more suited to a conservatory or orangery.

uPVC conservatories and orangeries are a fantastic addition to any home and can add much needed living space and they can also add value to your property. However making sure that it is a space that you can use throughout the year will make sure that you get the most out of your investment.

Conservatory Outlet specialise in the manufacture and installation of the latest energy saving Conservatories, Orangeries, Double Glazing Replacement Windows and Doors – supplying a network of home improvement companies throughout Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire, Shropshire, West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, Northern Ireland and Wales.
