Conservatory Outlet – add value to your home with the name you know you can trust.

The outside appearance of our homes is very important to us. One of the key features of any home is the windows and doors. Attractive windows and doors can really make your home stand out from your neighbours. However due to the UK climate if you have traditional timber framed windows and doors then to keep them looking as good as possible they will require painting every couple of years. However a popular choice now is to replace these with uPVC windows and uPVC doors which only require wiping with soap and water every so often to keep them looking as good as new.

uPVC windows and uPVC doors are built using double glazing which as the name suggests is basically built using two panes of glass which are then sealed together with a gap left between the two panes. It is this gap which acts as an insulator meaning that uPVC windows and uPVC doors are far more energy efficient than traditional timber framed windows and doors.

uPVC windows and doors are also highly attractive, they come in a wide range of styles and colours meaning there is a style to suit virtually any property. If you live in an older property and you are concerned about losing the character of the property then there are styles such as uPVC sash windows which are made to look like traditional timber framed sash windows but benefit from all the advantages of uPVC. You can even get uPVC windows and doors which are made to look like real wood.

It is important that your windows and doors fit with the style of the rest of your house to ensure your home is as attractive as possible. Many people now have uPVC conservatories fitted in their homes id you do you should try to ensure that your conservatory and windows and doors all match otherwise your property may look mix matched and cluttered from the outside.

Having attractive windows and doors can make a huge difference to the overall appearance of your home. If your windows and doors are starting to look old and tired you should definitely consider installing uPVC windows and uPVC doors.

At the moment every time we turn the news on or pick up the newspapers there seems to be a depressing story about falling property prices and how it is becoming harder and harder to sell your home. The boom is finally over and no longer can you rely on your property going up in value as time goes by. Therefore if you are in a position where you are looking to sell your property to ensure you get the best price for it you need to make sure that it is in as good condition as possible.

One of the most important things to consider is the curb appeal of your house. Usually before most people even book an appointment to come and view your house they will come and drive past and have a look at your property from the outside. Therefore making sure the outside of your home is as attractive as possible is very important. If you have a fence in front of your property a lick of paint could help and you should tidy up the garden. A couple of well placed plants in pots by the front door do not have to cost the earth but can make a big difference. Then look at the outside of your home, is the guttering, roof and paint work in good condition?

If you have a lot of possessions it may be worth boxing up some of the non essential items and putting them into storage as you want to make your home feel as spacious as possible. If some of the decor is looking tired, redecorating does not have to cost the earth but remember not to decorate to your own to taste but that neutral colours are likely to be more appealing to potential buyers.

The layout of your home is also very important even if you do not have a very big house if you can try to show separate areas which can be used as living space, a dining area, kitchen etc this will help the buyer to imagine living there themselves. The amount of space in your home is also important if you can afforded it adding a Conservatory to your home has proven time after time to add value to properties.

Conservatories are seen as a really luxury and can help to make your property to stand out from other similar properties. The best thing about conservatories is that they do not need to cost the earth either and often people report getting back more than the initial outlay when they sell their home.

Selling a home is rarely easy, however you can make it easier on yourself by making your property more attractive and more sellable. Asking your estate agent their advice can also help to ensure you are making the changes which will get you the best return on your investment.

We have all heard of it and many of us have it fitted in our homes but what exactly is double glazing? As the name suggests double glazing uses two sheets of glass. The two sheets of glass are fitted into a frame and a gap is left between the two panes and silica balls are used to keep the two panes of glass separated and to absorb moisture from the air between to the glass to prevent condensation. The unit is then sealed.

There are two types of glass which are usually used for making double glazing units. Either toughened sometimes referred to as tempered glass or float glass. Float glass is used to create smaller double glazed units, these are ideal for higher up in buildings where there is less chance of them being broke. Whereas Toughened glass or tempered glass as the name suggests is a safety glass which if broken is designed to shatter in to thousands of smaller pieces which are far less harmful when broken.  It is actually a requirement of the Glass and glazing federation that tempered glass is used when creating large glazed units such as patio doors or floor to ceiling conservatory windows.

So why is double glazing preferable over other options? Firstly as mentioned previously there is the safety aspect double glazing is much harder to be break and if broken it will shatter into smaller less dangerous pieces. This is particularly beneficial for areas where children may be such as schools or family homes. However there is also another major advantage is that it has much greater insulating qualities than single glazing.
