Low Maintenance Glass

Low maintenance glass is an option that anyone buying a conservatory should consider, due to the amount of glass in a conservatory it can be a time consuming and laborious task. Anyone who has ever had to clean one can testify to this, and this is why your local window cleaner tends to charge a small fortune to clean them. This is why the glazing industry has developed low maintenance glass.

This product can save you hours of back breaking work. When the glass is made, a special coating is bonded to the surface of the glass. When this coating is exposed to UV light it becomes energised and starts to break down dirt and other organic matter. This is known as a photocatalytic effect. The coating on the glass also has hydrophilic properties, meaning water runs down the glass as a sheet, washing the dirt away. This means when it rains your windows are rinsed clean. This means the glass stays cleaner longer, drastically reducing the amount of cleaning required to keep your windows in pristine condition.
