Window Energy Ratings

Window Energy Ratings - Yorkshire supplier of Energy Efficient uPVC windows.
Conservatory Outlet are proud to announce their windows have achieved a B and C British Fenestration Rating Council energy performance label. The rating criteria looks at a number of different aspects of energy efficiency.
These include three main elements.
1/ Thermal transmittance (U-value) This measures how a product prevents heat from escaping.
2/ The solar factor (g-value) is the next test, this measures how well a window blocks heat caused by the sun. The solar factor can fall anywhere between 0 and 1. A lower value means less heat gain.
3/ The final measure is air leakage (L50 value). this value is self explanatory, and although a good quality window will have little benefit in terms of performance, a leaky one can see a drastic drop in energy efficiency.
Based upon the results of these tests, a rating from A to G will be awarded. Since March 2005, all windows which can demonstrate a BFRC energy rating of 'C' or better can carry the Energy Saving Recommended swing tag as seen on major TV and National press advertisement campaigns.
To achieve an energy rating of 'C', Conservatory Outlet are offering a combination of low-e glass, argon gas filling and Super Spacer® is required in the Synseal Synerjy slim outer frame section.
To achieve the 'B' energy rating, Conservatory Outlet will be offering a combination of low-e sealed units, argon gas filling, Optiwhite (to the outer pane) and Edgetech Super Spacer, within the Synseal Synerjy slim outer frame.
The label provides the consumer with a straight forward independently monitored method of comparing the energy efficiency of different windows. The consumer can tell at a glance the energy efficiency of a particular product simply my looking at the BFRC Rating Scheme label. The rating is easy to understand and provides the consumer with enough information to make an informed choice.
The higher rated better insulated products mean there is less energy needed to heat a property and less heat lost. Due to the house retaining heat, a significant amount of energy is saved, this in turn will effect a households carbon footprint as less energy is consumed.
By having the option of a B or C rated window, Conservatory Outlet dealers are now able to supply windows with a very high level of thermal insulation, which will in turn help in a smal way towards the UK's attempts to reduce carbon emmissions. Ask you Conservatory Outlet for more details about their energy efficient windows.
