Conservatory Outlet Buyer's Guide - advice for purchasing pvc conservatories and double glazing.
The following Buyer's Guide was created by West Yorkshire Windows and offers good advice to the consumer when choosing the best conservatory or window company in your area.
Use a well established company that has a great reputation
Our company receives an exceptional rate of enquiries through recoomendations and satisfied customers who continue to come back to us for additional work. We would be very happy to show you our book or testimonials from satisfied customers.
We have enjoyed significant coverage on a number of television programmes. Our expertise and professionalism has been called upon many times. We have featured on Carol Vorderman's 'Better Homes,' the BBC's 'DIY SOS' and more recently we were called upon by the 'House of Horrors' to rectify a cowboy installation.
Use a company that is FENSA registered
FENSA Ltd is the Fenestration Self Assessment Scheme for companies that install windows and doors. The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) introduced the scheme in response to the new building regulations required for England and Wales.
Since 1 April 2002, all replacement glazing in dwellings comes within the scope of building regulations.
When having your windows and doors replaced, you must ensure that you have the work completed by a FENSA registered company. If you use a company that is not FENSA registered, you must take on the full responsibility and pay the additional fees to obtain your own certificate from your Local Authority Building Control.
We are a FENSA registered company.
Use a company that are experienced and knowledgeable about every stage of your installation
When considering adding a conservatory to your home, you would be wise to select a company who can offer the best advice on every aspect, from the early design stage right through to completion.
One of the most common questions we are asked is 'will we need planning permission'?
Since the responsibility to obtain planning permission lies with the homeowner(s), many companies will build a conservatory with little or no thought as to whether planning permission is required or not!
Our surveyor will always establish if planning permission is required. If planning is required we will be happy to deal with the full application on your behalf. If planning is not required we will issue you with a planning exemption letter. Customers find this exceptionally useful, especially when it comes to selling their home.
Imagine the hassle and expense involved in taking down a conservatory that has been built without the relevant permission, and what about the emotional upset?
Use a company that is professional and upfront
Always insist on a written quotation. Professional and trustworthy companies will be happy to provide you with a full breakdown of exactly what your quotation includes.
A written quotation will help you compare quotations on a like for like basis ensuring that you receive the very best value for money.
Beware of companies that give you a guide price, as these quite often do not deliver what you are expecting. You could be hit with further hidden costs during your installation.
Use a company that offers a comprehensive range of products with the ability to demonstrate the benefits of them to you
For many people, replacing windows and doors or buying a conservatory is a new experience. Making the right choices can be very difficult, especially when there are so many different companies and products to choose from.
Many companies, however, offer only the most basic options; customers can be left totally unaware that there are better products available that would significantly improve their installation.
We believe in making customers aware of all options available to them.
Our energy efficient windows not only look great but perform brilliantly, as well as adding value to your home they have proven to significantly reduce heat loss and reduce heating bills, so as well as saving money you will be helping the environment.
A major problem with conservatories is that they are too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. What's the point in having an additional space if you can't use it? Our solar control glass and smart polycarbonate will provide you with a room you can use all year round.....perfect!
Remember to ask companies you see to demonstrate their products and show you the benefits. If they can't, the chances are they are offering 'standard' or sub-standard' products that won't live up to your expectations.
Visit our showroom where we will be more than happy to demonstrate our products for you.
Use a company that can offer you a full service
Whether you are replacing your windows or doors or adding a conservatory to you home, our aim is to make the experience as easy and trouble free as possible.
You will be allocated your very own project manager to guide you through your installation.
Your Project Manager will coordinate surveyors, builders, installers, electricians etc and keep you informed as to the progress of your project at every stage.
Use a company that offer comprehensive insurance/manufacturer backed guarantees
Most double glazing companies offer some kind of guarantee, however there are huge differences as to what the guarantee actually cover, the length of time the cover is valid for and whether the guarantee is actually worth the paper it is written on?
Many companies regularly cease trading, guarantees become null and void leaving customers with no guarantees at all!
We provide:
A fully comprehensive installer guarantee
This covers absolutely EVERY part of your installation.
An additional insurance backed guarantee
This guarantee insures our 10-year guarantee. In other words, in the highly unlikely event that we should cease trading; your guarantee will still be valid for the remainder of the term.
Our Exclusive 1 2 3 Conservatory Outlet Guarantee
1. A security guarantee
With a Conservatory Outlet installation we are so confident in the security of our products that, in the unlikely event of a break-in through failure of our products, we will pay the cost (up to £500) of replacing or repairing the forced window or door, and pay you £500 towards any inconvenience caused!
2. A 20 year profile guarantee
Covering all white PVCU profile for a period of 20 years. This means that for 20 years your frames are insured against: -
· Discolouration
· Shape Retention

3. A 10 year manufacturer guarantee
Similar to the insurance backed guarantee, the manufacturer guarantee also covers all products for a period of 10 years.
